What is modern infrastructure, and how is it different from a traditional network?

Modern infrastructure is a network built as one converged platform for data, voice, video and mobility, rather than the separate LANs and WANs of the past.

In a typical office today, VoIP phones, video calls, laptops on Wi-Fi, mobile devices and cloud applications all share the same switches, firewalls and internet connection. When one part is undersized or out of date, everything that rides on it suffers: dropped calls, frozen video meetings and slow access to shared files.
